New Board Member, Mr. Jerome Johnson - Western Heights

Mr. Jerome Johnson has been appointed by Governor Kevin Stitt to serve as the newest Board Member for Western Heights filling the Seat 5 vacancy. The Seat 5 term expires in 2025. Mr. Johnson is Active Guard, and a parent of two young children who attend Council Grove Elementary. 

When asked about why he wanted to serve on the board, Mr. Johnson shared, “I wanted to give back to the community while still supporting my family. I believe that if our district is doing well then I am hopeful it will positively impact my children, too.”

Interim Superintendent, Brayden Savage, said “Today is another new day for Western Heights as we welcome a new board member. We are elated to work with Mr. Jerome Johnson to help move the district forward, and we thank Mr. Johnson for stepping up to serve in this capacity, as a leader, within our district as a member of our Western Heights School Board. Thank you to the Oklahoma State Board of Education, Oklahoma State Department of Education, and the Governor's Office for their continued support.”

The first meeting, with the newly appointed board member, will be held on Monday, December 12th, 2022 at 7pm in the High School Commons.

Nuevo miembro de la junta, el Sr. Jerome Johnson - Western Heights

El gobernador Kevin Stitt nombró al Sr. Jerome Johnson para que se desempeñe como el miembro más nuevo de la junta directiva de Western Heights y ocupe la vacante del puesto 5. El término del Asiento 5 vence en 2025. El Sr. Johnson es Guardia Activo y padre de dos niños pequeños que asisten a la Escuela Primaria Council Grove.

Cuando se le preguntó por qué quería formar parte de la junta, el Sr. Johnson compartió: “Quería retribuir a la comunidad sin dejar de apoyar a mi familia. Creo que si a nuestro distrito le está yendo bien, tengo la esperanza de que también tendrá un impacto positivo en mis hijos”.

El superintendente interino, Brayden Savage, dijo: “Hoy es otro nuevo día para Western Heights, ya que le damos la bienvenida a un nuevo miembro de la junta. Estamos encantados de trabajar con el Sr. Jerome Johnson para ayudar a que el distrito avance, y le agradecemos al Sr. Johnson por dar un paso al frente para servir en esta capacidad, como líder, dentro de nuestro distrito como miembro de nuestra Junta Escolar de Western Heights”.

La primera reunión, con el nuevo miembro de la junta, se llevará a cabo el lunes 12 de diciembre de 2022 a las 7:00 p. m. en High School Commons.
